What type of chocolate does the chocolate fountain use? |
|
The chocolate fountain will
operate with most any brand of "coverture" chocolate.
Coverture chocolate is a high quality chocolate that contains
extra cocoa butter (32-39%). The higher percentage of cocoa
butter, combined with the processing, gives the chocolate a
creamy mellow flavor and allows the chocolate to flow through
the fountain more elegantly. |

What foods
can you dip in the fountain? |
|
Most any food item that goes
well with chocolate can be used with the chocolate fountain.
The most popular items are; strawberries, bananas, pineapple, cherries,
grapes, mellons, pretzel sticks, marshmallows, biscotti, pound cake, and even
rice krispy treats! Just keep in mind that any
crumbly-type food that may fall into the chocolate fountain
will cause the chocolate to get lumpy. Although this will not
harm the fountain, it does affect the appearance of the
chocolate as it is cascading over the tiers. |

Who
provides the food for the chocolate fountain? |
|
Due to licensing requirements,
the caterer or banquet facility provides the food for
the fountain. We will be happy to work with them on
suggesting what food items can be used. |
|
|
|
Can the fountain be
used outside? |
|
We do not recommend using the
chocolate fountain outside for the following reasons.
-
Maintaining a warm temperature
of chocolate is critical for continued smooth operation of
the chocolate fountain. Depending on the time of the year
and the general climate, this could be difficult to
accomplish in an outdoor setting.
-
Because of the chocolate’s
sweet aroma, little flying creatures are very likely to be
attracted to the chocolate fountain. This makes for an
unappealing presentation.

What do I have to provide to rent a chocolate fountain? |
|
Since the chocolate fountain weighs
approximately 100 pounds when full, a level, sturdy table is
required. If it is not level, the chocolate will not flow
properly. Your banquet facility should provide two table
linens that will coordinate with your color scheme. The
chocolate fountain requires a 120 volt grounded electrical
outlet within 20 feet of the set-up location. For non-catered events or private parties the client is responsible for the dipping items. |
